Aquaculture Gladstone is a world-leading, multi-species fish hatchery at Lake Awoonga.
Welcome to Aquaculture Gladstone
Aquaculture Gladstone has one of the largest fish stocking programs in Queensland, producing up to five million Barramundi, Mangrove Jack and Sea Mullet fingerlings a year at peak production.

Behind the bio-secure door, the team uses cutting-edge Aquaculture facilities and techniques to grow healthy fingerlings for restocking into Lake Awoonga, and for commercial sale.

Front of house, the Aquaculture Gladstone Interpretive Display is a showcase of best practice aquaculture, with a live fish exhibit and educational displays. Our team, supported by dedicated volunteers, provides educational and engaging tours to school and community groups.

The display is also open to the public from 9am to 3pm Monday to Saturday. Come see us at 11am and you’ll be able to watch feeding time for our big Barramundi on display, including the very rare Golden Barramundi and White Barramundi.

See you soon!
