AQUACULTURE GLADSTONE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AWOONGA DAM $100K FISH CHALLENGE
1. This competition commences on 03/03/2025 and ends on the earlier of:
a. one year from commencement; or
b. when four tagged Barramundi have been captured by an entrant and all prizes have been claimed.
The competition’s end date can be extended at the discretion of Aquaculture Gladstone.
2. The four Barramundi have been tagged with a unique Aquaculture Gladstone blue tag and released into Lake Awoonga. The four Barramundi will also be tagged with a yellow InfoFish tag. Gladstone Area Water Board and Aquaculture Gladstone encourages release of the Barramundi back into the Lake after photos and removal of the blue and yellow tags.
3. To compete in the competition and be in the running for a prize, the entrant must:
a. catch a tagged Barramundi within the competition location of Lake Awoonga only (competition location);
b. conduct line fishing, or may use a landing net in combination with line fishing, in order to catch a tagged Barramundi;
c. not conduct electrofishing or any other fishing technique (except as permitted in
clause 3b);
d. use legal fishing apparatus/es;
e. respect all closed waters and restricted access areas in and around the dam;
f. comply with any relevant requirements contained in the Fisheries Act 1994 (Qld) and any other relevant legislation.
4. Each of the four Barramundi has a prize value of $25,000 if caught during the competition period.
5. Prize money will only be paid once on each captured Barramundi. A total of four prizes are available for the capture of each of the four Barramundi. If any other blue tagged fish (without Aquaculture Gladstone tags) are captured within the competition period, they will not be valid entries to the competition.
6. Entry to the competition is open to all members of the public (subject to clause 7) excluding:
a. employees of Aquaculture Gladstone and Gladstone Area Water Board (including volunteers) and their immediate families;
b. all InfoFish employees, office bearers, subcontractors and volunteers;
c. any person involved in capturing the prize fish, the tag and release process or in planning the competition.
7. Entry to the competition is open to any person at the competition location who is:
a. aged 18 or over; or
b. aged under 18, if they have the permission of their parent or guardian to participate in the competition.
8. To enter the competition and be eligible to win a prize, the entrant must:
a. capture a blue and yellow tagged Barramundi in accordance with these terms and conditions;
b. take digital photos as follows:
i. a photo including the whole Barramundi on a reputable brag mat or ruler showing the length of the fish;
ii. a close-up photo of the whole Barramundi, clearly displaying the blue and yellow tag numbers. If the tag number is indecipherable the entry may be invalid;
c. record the capture by either:
i. calling 1800 077 001 (InfoFish Australia Pty Ltd) and follow InfoFish’s instructions for verification of the capture, which may include providing your personal information; or
ii. remove the blue and yellow tag by cutting the stem with scissors or a knife
and bring the blue and yellow tag to Aquaculture Gladstone (Hatchery - 865
Awoonga Dam Road Benaraby 4680, during opening Hours Mon – Sat
9.00am-3.00pm). Personal information may need to be provided as part of
the verification process.
9. Entry to the competition occurs at the date and time the entrant contacts InfoFish or Aquaculture Gladstone to advise they have caught a tagged Barramundi. Entry is subject to Aquaculture Gladstone and InfoFish being satisfied (in their absolute discretion) that the entrant has complied with these terms and provided any supporting evidence and documentation requested.
10. Multiple winning catches/entries per person is permissible.
11. In relation to Aquaculture Gladstone or InfoFish’s verification of the capture, their decision is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
12. Winners will be individually contacted and announced via the Gladstone Area Water Board’s and Aquaculture Gladstone’s social media and media channels.
13. The prize must be claimed/received within three months from the date the winner is notified. During this period, if Aquaculture Gladstone is unable to locate or deliver the prize to the winner, the prize must be reserved by Aquaculture Gladstone. If it is not claimed within this time, the winner no longer has a right to claim the prize. A replacement Barramundi will then be tagged and released into the lake by Aquaculture Gladstone.
14. Each entrant acknowledges and accepts that there are inherent risks in participating in the competition. Gladstone Area Water Board and Aquaculture Gladstone shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with participation in the competition or the redemption and/or use of the prize/s.
15. Entrants must only participate in the competition in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit the participation of others in the competition or brings the Gladstone Area Water Board or Aquaculture Gladstone into disrepute.
16. If an entrant breaches these terms, Aquaculture Gladstone may immediately and without notice, terminate their participation in the competition.
17. By entering the competition, entrants provide consent for the Gladstone Area Water Board, Aquaculture Gladstone and InfoFish to collect, use and disclose (including sharing between each other), the entrant’s personal information to:
a. confirm the entrant’s eligibility to enter the competition;
b. determine whether the entrant can win a prize in the competition;
c. make payment to a winning entrant;
d. promote the competition and/or any similar future competitions;
e. any other purpose authorised or required by law.
18. The types of personal information that Gladstone Area Water Board, Aquaculture Gladstone and InfoFish may collect and share amongst each other include the entrant’s name, date of birth, residential address, email address, photographs and phone number.

20. All entrants acknowledge that Gladstone Area Water Board and Aquaculture Gladstone are subject to the terms and conditions of the social media providers which may allow unrestricted use and modification, including use and storage of information outside Australia. Gladstone Area Water Board and Aquaculture Gladstone gives no warranties that it can control how the entrant’s information is subsequently used, stored or modified by third parties and the entrant consents to the terms and conditions of those third party websites when submitting personal information. Gladstone Area Water Board and Aquaculture Gladstone are not responsible and have no liability to the entrant for the content, security and privacy practices of these websites.
21. The entrant’s personal information may be disclosed to third parties such as Gladstone Area Water Board/Aquaculture Gladstone/InfoFish’s employees, contractors and advisors, ambulance/police officers or other emergency services personnel (if required to assist the entrant) and associated service providers for the purposes of or relating to the competition.
22. As a condition of entry, the entrant consents (and if the entrant is under 18, their parent or guardian consents) to their personal information being collected, used, published or disclosed by Gladstone Area Water Board, Aquaculture Gladstone and InfoFish for the purposes stated in these terms and conditions.
23. The competition is conducted in Queensland, and is subject to the laws of Queensland, and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
24. These terms and conditions form the entire agreement and understanding between the Aquaculture Gladstone and the entrant for the competition.
Please note: Aquaculture Gladstone only endorses the removal of the unique blue or yellow tag as proof of capture by the entrant. Regular fish tags should be entered/reported via Infofish or the Track My Fish App, but not removed from the fish.
